WELCOME TO THE DEPARTMENT OF MEDICAL ETHICS AND LAW
Introduction
The Department of Medical Ethics & Law (MELD) was established at the Faculty of Medicine UiTM in August 2020. Previously, it was known as the Medical Ethics & Law Unit. MELD runs the undergraduate Ethics & Medical Jurisprudence (EMJ) courses in the undergraduate MBBS240 programme, and also the postgraduate MD775 Master in Medical Ethics & Medical Jurisprudence (MEMJ) programme. In addition to this, MELD offers a Research Ethics Consultation Service (RECS) at the Faculty of Medicine UiTM, and a Clinical Ethics Consultation Service (CECS) at the Hospital UiTM. Besides teaching and providing services, members of the MELD are also involved with policy work, active in research, and often receive invitations for speaking and teaching engagements locally and abroad.
