MLSM Forum for Young Practitioners & Students

The Medical Ethics & Law Unit of the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM, and the Medical Student Association (MESTA) recently collaborated with the Medico-Legal Society of Malaysia (MLSM) to organise a half-day forum for Young Practitioners and Students on 23 March 2019 at the Sungai Buloh Campus.

The forum covered topics such as ‘Does Medical School Prepare You to Practice?’, ‘Teaching v Harassment- where to draw the line?’ and ‘Do Young Doctors Face the Medical Council?’. In addition to that, legal cases involving housemen and medical students were also discussed. The lectures were delivered by distinguish speakers such as Dato’ Dr Mohd Hassan Ariff, Senior Consultant Anaesthetist at the Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), Datuk Dr. Christopher Lee, the Deputy Director-General of Health (Research & Technical Support), and Dr Faizi Rosli, Director of the Legal and Ethics Unit of the Malaysian Medical Council (MMC).

About 150 participants attended the forum and participated in some lively discussion. The proceedings of the forum was also covered by BFM Radio and can be accessed on their website at:
