Laboratory Animal Care Unit (LACU) is a centralized animal research center for Faculty of Medicine, UiTM Sg. Buloh Campus. Since its foundation in March 2010, it has served its purposes as a centre for the exclusive use of laboratory animals in research and teaching through a proper humane care and management of laboratory animals such as rat, mice and rabbits. It main facilities include the quarantine, breeding, surgical theatre, experimental and procedure rooms, general laboratory, washing area, dry food and bedding storage, general waste, clinical waste rooms and carcass storage. Various advanced equipments are available for particular research studies for postgraduate(master and PhD) and postdoctoral studies in basic medical sciences and biomedical areas. This centre also conducts seminars and training on related areas in the care, maintenance and consultation for laboratory animals as well as offer assistance for collaborative works and attachments.
