The Medical Museum of Universiti Technology MARA (UiTM) was established in 2005 and has since evolved into a comprehensive institution dedicated to the field of medical sciences. The museum houses more than 500 specimen jars encompassing the disciplines of pathology, anatomy, and parasitology, and is managed by a team of three experienced staff members. Each exhibition space is systematically organized, featuring distinct collections based on these specialized categories.
Anatomy refers to the study of the structure of the human body, including the arrangement of organs and tissues. Pathology is the branch of medical science that examines structural and functional changes in the body caused by disease. Parasitology, on the other hand, focuses on the study of parasites, their relationship with hosts, and their impact on human health.
The establishment of the Medical Museum aims to collect, preserve, and showcase specimens derived from unique, rare, and significant pathological cases. These specimens are contributed by pathologists from both histopathology laboratories and forensic practice. As such, the museum serves as an important reference resource in supporting education, learning, and research in the medical field.
