Department of Population Health & Preventive Medicine

INTRODUCTION

PHPM department was established in 2003 to provide the teaching of public health for both undergraduates and postgraduates in Faculty of Medicine, UiTM. The discipline aims to provide comprehensive up to date knowledge on health issues in the population and health delivery systems. Besides knowledge, the discipline also provide skills to future doctors in disease prevention and health promotion while developing positive attitudes and practices in the conduct of a medical research.

The discipline is headed by a head of department and assisted by academic staffs in various public health specializations. Presently, the discipline comprises units of epidemiology, biostatistics, health management, occupational safety and health, environmental health, family health and health promotion.
