Introduction

Department of Anaesthesiology & Intensive Care, Faculty of Medicine, UiTM is one of the disciplines under the Surgical Sciences Cluster. We are steadily growing to cater for the increasing demands of the Faculty in clinical services, academic and research activities besides keeping abreast of new developments in the specialty.

Our UiTM Medical Specialist Centre in Sungai Buloh has 4 operating theatres, a 6-bedded Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU) and a 4-bedded Intensive Care Unit (ICU). We also run anaesthetic and pain clinics every Fridays.

Apart from providing clinical services, we are actively involved in teaching undergraduate medical students. These students will have be involved in clinical placements in operating theatres and intensive care units in UiTM Medical Specialist Centre and Hospital Sungai Buloh during their 4th year of of MBBS programme.

OUR SERVICES

We provide:

  • comprehensive pre-anaesthetic assessment
  • full anaesthetic provision for elective or emergency cases
  • acute pain management
  • intensive care for patients in general wards and CCU needing ventilatory support
  • resuscitation and airway management services
