This isPharmacologyDepartment
Introduction
The department of Pharmacology started with only one Professor in 2004, with the addition of another Professor and a Trainee Lecturer in 2005. Despite this, the discipline has been heavily involved in the initial development and later modification of the Faculty’s unique curriculum. We also played our part in helping the Faculty achieve accreditation by the Malaysian Qualification Agency in 2008.
Since then, discipline members have come and gone but the level of commitment of the discipline towards providing quality in teaching and learning remained high. To date, we have a dedicated set of lecturers who are focused in achieving the discipline’s and the Faculty’s mission and vision for the future.
Members of discipline have taken lead in key research areas and postgraduate training. The members are holding several internal and external grants and are supervising Master and PhD students. We also established the Research Interest Group “Molecular Pharmacology and Advanced Therapeutic” under the Pharmaceutical and Life Sciences, Community of Research (CoRe).
One of the initiative taken by the department is to set up Neuroscience Lab in the faculty. The Neuroscience lab is very well equipped and has been in service since 2014.
