The faculty aims to produce highly motivated and accomplished doctors with a solid scientific foundation imbued with strong humanistic values, to lead the medical profession in the future. The faculty is one of the very few medical faculties in Malaysia with the vision to lead the medical profession and to influence medical practice worldwide. It encourages creativity and innovation through scientific research and adopts multi-pronged rather than sequential strategies in the development of postgraduate studies and research activities, which are initiated during undergraduate -teaching itself. |

Congratulations to Dr Muhamed T Osman ( Senior Lecturer of Pathology & Consultant Immunopathologist at the Faculty of Medicine, UiTM) for being awarded the Second Prize in the Oral Presentation Competition for his presentation entitled "Association of Dermatitis Herpetiformis with Coeliac Disease. A Study using HLA Markers and Autoantibodies" at the XI th Malaysian Congress and Exhibition on Allergy and Immunology, organized by Malaysian Society of Allergy and Immunology, 12th -14th March 2010 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Kuala Lumpur.

The Faculty of Medicine kicked off its 2010 calendar of events with the 4th Annual Postgraduate Workshop 2010 themed A Look to the Future, held at its impressive and newly completed Faculty premises in Selayang.
The workshop, held on 9th January 2010, saw the Faculty’s conclave of distinguished scientists, skilled professionals and postgraduate students coming together for an intensive academic and dialogue session.
Dato’ Prof Ir Dr Sahol Hamid Abu Bakar who officiated the workshop noted the rapid growth and development of the Faculty since its inception 7 years ago. The Vice-Chancellor expressed his admiration and pledged the University’ support for the Faculty’s future plans. The facilities at the new premises will enable the Faculty of Medicine to continue its expansion and to further strengthen its excellent research and teaching environment.
The programme included a talk by the Dean, Professor Dato' Dr Khalid Yusoff titled The Faculty; Then, Now and Future and a special briefing of the new Faculty of Medicine premises in Selayang, Sungai Buloh and Teluk Intan by Prof. Dato' Dr. Aminudin Ahmad, the Deputy Dean of Industrial Linkages, Clinical Services & Development.
The meeting ended with a Q&A session with the Dean and Deputy Dean (Academic) Prof Dr. Ainsah Omar regarding issues faced by the postgraduate students and trainee lecturers. A short round trip was held to the state-of-the-art library and museum on the new premises.
